It's really impossible to tell the cause of a crash without debugging it. The easiest way to debug it is to get a dump file at the time the crash occurs. However, in order to debug that, it may be necessary to have access to private symbols for Expression Web, and that's something that only Microsoft has access to.
While it's possible that someone here might get lucky and guess at a cause for this, the best thing to do is to contact Microsoft and let one of their engineers get a crash dump for you. That can then be debugged to determine what's going on.
